Itinerary

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY JOURNEY

Day 1

You will arrive at Kathmandu terminal airport, and our representative will escort you to your hotel. You can relax to prepare for your walk or spend the rest of the day enjoying the city.

 

Day 2

You’ll board a domestic flight from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur in eastern Nepal. You will travel to Ilam from Bhadrapur, a small town renowned for its tea gardens and picturesque surroundings. The rest of the day can be used to explore the city and prepare for your adventure.

Day 3

Today, you will drive from Ilam to Taplejung, the starting point of your trek. The drive takes around 6-7 hours and offers stunning views of the mountains and rural Nepali villages. You will spend the night in a local tea house in Taplejungg.

Day 4

Today we begin our trek from Taplejung to Sinwa (1,085 m). The trail gradually descends through lush forests, terraced fields, and small villages, offering scenic views of the surrounding hills and rivers. Along the way, we pass local settlements where you can observe traditional rural life. Sinwa is a small village with tea houses and lodges, where we spend the night and prepare for the trek into higher elevations the following day.

Day 5

Today we trek from Sinwa to Lelep (1,860 m). The trail descends gently through terraced fields, forests, and small villages, offering glimpses of traditional rural life in eastern Nepal. Along the way, you may cross streams and enjoy the peaceful natural surroundings. Upon reaching Lelep, a quaint village with tea houses and local lodges, we rest for the night and prepare for the next day’s trek deeper into the Kanchenjunga region.

Day 6

Today we trek from Lelep to Amjilosa (2,510 m). The trail descends gently through forests and terraced fields, passing small villages and suspension bridges along the way. This section offers scenic views of the surrounding hills, streams, and glimpses of distant snow-capped peaks. Upon arrival in Amjilosa, we stay overnight at local tea houses or lodges, enjoying the peaceful village setting.

Day 7

Today we trek from Amjilosa to Gyabla (2,730 m). The trail gradually ascends through lush forests of rhododendron and pine, crossing streams and small villages along the way. Trekking through peaceful countryside, you’ll enjoy scenic views of the surrounding hills and glimpses of distant snow-capped peaks. Gyabla is a charming village with basic tea houses and lodges, where we stay overnight and prepare for higher altitudes ahead.

Day 8

Today we trek from Gyabla to Ghunsa (3,595 m). The trail gradually ascends through dense forests, terraced fields, and small villages, offering scenic views of the surrounding hills and snow-capped peaks. Along the way, you may encounter local wildlife and have opportunities to observe traditional village life. We reach Ghunsa by afternoon, a picturesque high-altitude village with tea houses and lodges, where we stay overnight and rest for acclimatization.

Day 9

Today is an acclimatization day in Ghunsa (3,420 m). This day is dedicated to helping your body adjust to the higher altitude before ascending further. You can take short walks around the village, explore nearby trails, and enjoy the stunning views of surrounding peaks and glaciers. Interacting with the local Limbu community and visiting their traditional homes provides a cultural experience while allowing you to rest and acclimatize. Overnight stay is in Ghunsa.

Day 10

Today we trek from Ghunsa to Kambachen at 4,050 m. The trail gradually ascends through rhododendron and pine forests, crossing streams and small settlements along the way. As we gain altitude, the landscape opens to alpine meadows and views of surrounding glaciers and towering Himalayan peaks. Kambachen is a small, high-altitude settlement with basic lodges where we spend the night, preparing for the higher altitudes ahead.

Day 11

Today we trek from Kambachen up to Lhonak at 4,790 m. The trail gradually ascends through rocky terrain, moraines, and alpine meadows, with stunning views of glaciers and high Himalayan peaks along the way. Lhonak is a remote settlement near the Kanchenjunga North Base Camp area, offering a peaceful overnight stay in lodges surrounded by spectacular mountainous scenery.

Day 12

Today is an exciting day as we trek from Lhonak to Pangpema/North Base Camp at 5,140 m. This is a short but rewarding trek, taking about 3 hours round trip. The route ascends gently across rocky terrain and moraines, offering panoramic views of Kanchenjunga and surrounding glaciers. After enjoying the stunning vistas and photo opportunities at the base camp, we return to Lhonak for an overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 13

Today we trek from Lhonak down toward Ghunsa (3,420 m). The trail descends gradually through rocky paths, alpine meadows, and scattered settlements, offering stunning views of glaciers and the surrounding Himalayan peaks. Along the way, you’ll pass small villages where locals maintain traditional lifestyles. We reach Ghunsa by afternoon, a charming village with tea houses and lodges, where we stay overnight and rest for the next day’s trek.

Day 14

Today we trek from Ghunsa toward Selele La at 4,390 m. The trail gradually ascends through lush forests, alpine meadows, and rocky ridges, offering breathtaking views of surrounding peaks, glaciers, and the upper Kanchenjunga region. This is a challenging day due to the increasing altitude, but the spectacular scenery and sense of accomplishment upon reaching the high pass make it rewarding. Overnight stay is in tents or lodges near Selele La.

Day 15

Today we trek from Sele La (a high mountain pass) down toward Cheram at 3,870 m. The trail offers spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, including portions of Kanchenjunga. As we descend, we pass through rocky terrain, alpine meadows, and occasional small settlements. Cheram provides a peaceful overnight stop with local lodges and an opportunity to experience the remote mountain culture of the region.

Day 16

Today’s trek is a gradual descent from Cheram toward Tortong. The trail passes through several small villages and dense forested sections along the valley, offering peaceful natural surroundings. After a few hours of trekking, you arrive at Tortong, a small settlement with basic tea houses and local shops where you can rest and stay overnight.

Day 17

Today we take a scenic hike from Ramche toward Yalung South Base Camp, one of the most spectacular viewpoints of Mount Kanchenjunga. The trail gradually ascends through alpine meadows and glacial landscapes with breathtaking views of surrounding peaks. Upon reaching Yalung South Base Camp, enjoy magnificent panoramas of Kanchenjunga and nearby Himalayan giants before returning to Ramche for an overnight stay.

Day 18

Today we trek from Cheram and descend through beautiful rhododendron and pine forests toward Tortong (1,980 m). The trail gradually drops along the Simbuwa Khola valley, offering peaceful forest scenery and occasional wildlife sightings. After several hours of trekking, we reach the quiet settlement of Tortong where we rest and enjoy an overnight stay at a local lodge.

Day 19

Today we trek from Tortong toward Yamphudin (1,980 m). The trail mostly descends through dense forests, crossing small streams and passing landslide-prone sections before reaching the beautiful village of Yamphudin. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of the surrounding hills and experience the rich local culture of the region. After several hours of trekking, arrive at Yamphudin where we stay overnight at a local lodge.

Day 20

Today we leave Yamphudin and follow the trail through beautiful villages, terraced fields, and lush hills of eastern Nepal. The route gradually descends and then passes through local settlements and forested sections before reaching Khebang at an altitude of 1,910 m. This part of the trek offers a chance to experience the local culture and rural lifestyle of the region. Overnight stay at a local lodge or homestay in Khebang.

Day 21

Drive through the eastern hill region to the scenic tea garden area of Kanyam in Ilam.

Day 22

Drive from Kanyam to Bhadrapur, then take a domestic flight from Chandragadhi Airport back to Kathmandu.

Day 23

Today is the last day of your trip. You will be taken to the airport before your trip home or to your next location.
